The Marton and Gate Burton Parish Council is made up of 9 elected members - including a Chairperson, Vice-Chair and 7 other members. 7 members of the Council represent Marton and 2 represent Gate Burton. They are unpaid volunteers who work for the benefit of the community and all local residents. The Parish Council is fully accountable and subject to detailed audit.
The Clerk to the Parish Council is a part-time employee.
Meetings of the Marton and Gate Burton Parish Council are held monthly, except during August, and are normally on the first Tuesday in each month (but recently, because of Covid19 restrictions, on the first Monday of most months) in the village hall, Marton, commencing at 7:00pm. Residents may attend full council meetings and may speak briefly on village matters at the commencement of the meeting.
