3. PUBLIC FORUM; No Comments
4. NOTES OF MEETING HELD ON 1st JUNE 2026

5. REPORTS ON MATTERS FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING; Daniel Mahoney had contacted the clerk regarding the refurbishment of outside of the phone box and was enthusiastic and will give an estimate of work required once he has completed the Torksey phone box, as he does this work in his own time it may take a while before he responds.
6. PLANNING; No WL/2026/00595 West Burton Solar
Project WL/2026/00547 Cottam Solar Project a discussion took place regarding these projects, Community liason groups are handling any comments, rather than individuals sending in responses, Cllr Spence has some notices which will be placed on the notice boards.
7. FINANCE; Payments were approved for C&G Groundcare £100.00, Krinkels May invoice £1216.20, Krinkels June invoice £1071.00, clerks salary £207.91, HMRC £49.60. Cllr Spence stated the previous clerk had handed him a rates bill which will be added on the system to pay, clerk to contact WLDC to update address for future rates bills.
8. UPDATE ON MOBILE POST OFFICE; No further update from the Office of Sir Edward Leigh, clerk to chase.
9. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION REGARDING REGISTRATION OF PARISH LAND; Cllr Spence and Cllr Kent had visited the solicitors again last week a different member of staff is now dealing with this and we can now move forward.
10. OFFER TO TRANSFER OF CAR PARK MARTON ACADEMY FROM DEVELOPER: This item was moved on the agenda and discussed first. A lengthy discussion took place on the history and various emails were read out and referred to.Legalities of adopting a car park are complicated, Cllr Wymhurst stated various assesments had been carried out by LCC and Cllr Blythe stated stated she had carried out a pro active survey on what the car park usgae would be which is ready to be shared, she also mentioned the road was an exceptionally busy road and the school road markings at Blyton were given as an exemplary set up, Cllr Durning stated Marton village seemed to miss out on most things. The point was made where do responsibilities lie and where do we go from here?Cllr Wymhurst to keep the Parish Council updated.
11. LCC GRANT FOR BUS SHELTER SCHEME; Cllr Cody stated the drop kerb needs re-instating at the bus stop, Cllr Wymhurst stated he will take this up along with the request for a bus shelter, he stated grant money may be available he will know more about this on thursday.
12. COMMUNITY BOOK CLUB TELEPHONE BOX EXTERIOR. See 5 above.
13. REQUEST FROM VILLAGE HALL COMMITEE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE COST OF BARK/RUBBER CHIPPING FOR THE PLAY PARK; Following on from the last meeting the village hall had been advised of an alternative supplier, however they have stated they would like a contribution to the costs, Cllr Cody proposed a donation of 1K on condition that a suitable surface had been ordered and installed this was seconded by Cllr Kent. Clerk to advise village hall committee.
14. CORRESPONDENCE; The rates bill had been passed to Cllr Spence from the previous clerk, Know your place local communities drop in events were discussed and the parish council has been asked to support this , notices to be placed on notice boards and in the local shop.
15. CORONATION WOOD; The weeds and brambles are gradually being cleared from the ditch, Cllr Ridley has contacted contractors for a price to level off the bank, only one contractor has been to look so far.
16: AOB; Cllr Durning stated the HSBC account has finally been closed. Cllr Cody stated the street light with the fault is now working however it seems to be on during the day. The stone work wall by the church on the high street heading south needs attention clerk to report both these matters on Fix My Street.
