Minutes of the monthly meeting held on 8 May 2024

1.APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

2.DECLARATION OF MEMBERS' INTERESTS

None.

3.PUBLIC FORUM

None.

4. NOTES OFTHE MEETING HELD ON 3 APRIL 2024 TO BE APPROVED AS MINUTES

As there was a  discrepancy in different versions of the minutes as to the total amount in the bank account, this item is to be left to the next meeting.

5. REPORTS FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS

None.

6. PROPOSED SOLAR PARKS

There is now a proposal for a battery storage site near Willingham by Stow, this is yet another a cause for concern as batteries hum and if they were to ignite, it would be nigh on impossible to extinguish the blaze.

It has been noticed that some solar companies have said that sheep would be permitted to graze among the panels and others have said that that would not be possible.

7.PLANNING.

None.

8.FINANCE.

The CIL report for the last financial was signed as were cheques for Continental Landscapes and G Martin.

9. CORONATION WOOD.

The wildseeds are coming  through and wild flower bulbs have been transplanted.

Steve Porter has broken his rake whilst working in the woodland.A breakdown of what equipment needs replacing is required.

Steve  Porter has opened up an access to the wood from his garden. It was felt that this might set a prescedent for others to do the same.

Cllr Patrick proposed putting up a sign facing into the woodland saying it is a tempory access only for maintenance purposes.

10. SINK HOLES

There is now a digger on site.

11.REGISTER OF BURIALS BOOK

The 100 year old register of burials book is now full. It was agreed that a new one should be purchased.

12. CORRESPONDENCE

The war graves commission has offered to put a sign outside the cemetary for the First World War grave that is in there. All agreed to go ahead with the sign.

Parish Clerk Gillian Martin has advised that she will be vacating the post. The role will be advertised. The clerk was asked to source a job description.
