Minutes of the meeting held on 6 November 2023

3.   PUBLIC FORUM

4.   NOTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 2 OCTOBER 2023 TO BE APPROVED AS MINUTES

Cllr Cody proposed and Cllr Allen seconded that the notes be approved as a true record of the meeting.
 
5.   REPORTS ON MATTERS FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING

Cllr Spence has the Wreath for Remembrance Sunday. There will be no Service in Marton church. Cllr Spence will read the names of   the fallen and lay the wreath

The Church wall has been repaired

Cllr Spence has also purchased a new padlock for the gate and contacted Colin Butcher about the Autumn cut back.

Cllr Spence will purchase the Christmas tree and set it up in the usual place near the Methodist chapel.

There was some fly tipping at the far end of Littleborough Lane but it is probably under water now as the land has flooded.

Cllr Butroid is to be asked what the criteria is for the reduction of the speed limit from 40MPH to 30 MPH in Lea

6 PROPOSED SOLAR PARKS

WLDC is Complaining about No. of hearings.

This parish Council is to make a submission to The Planning Inspectorate against the Gate Burton Energy Park

b)   All the information has now been obtained in order to switch to internet banking.

9   CORONATION WOOD.

Cllr Ridley handed out a detailed report about the woodland. Cllrs Ridley, Patrick, Spence and Cody had met at the site

There are a number of stumps that have been left and which are now sprouting. More wood chippings or other material is needed on the paths to prevent weed growth.

Professional help is required, Cllr Ridley will contact some suitable contractors and another site meeting will be held .

Deer and owls have visited the site. Owl nesting boxes will be considered, and also the planting of bulbs.

10.   CORRESPONDENCE

The Parish Council Engagement Session with the police is on Thursday 14 December.
