Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 14 May 2019

1. CHAIRMAN'S REMARKS AND REPORTS.

The trees in the churchyard and the cemetery have now been cut back but the cemetery requires further work including the resurfacing and extending of the path. This will be discussed at the next meeting.

There is now a vacancy for a councillor and this is to be advertised and a new member co-opted at the next meeting.

2. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE.

None.

 

3. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST.

None.

 

4. NOTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON 2 APRIL 2019 TO BE APPROVED AS MINUTES.

Cllr Musgrave proposed and Cllr Durning seconded that the notes of the meeting held 2 April 2019 be approved as minutes.

 

5. ELECTION MATTERS.

All forms were signed.

 

6. PLANNING.

Application No. 1393984, 24 High Street. Request for confirmation of compliance with condition 5 – 8 inclusive of Planning Permission 138337, granted 26 October 2018.

 

The refurbishment of the house has now commenced.

 

The land at the end of Littleborough Lane has been sold subject to contract and archaeological survey

8. CORRESPONDENCE

Crime Report for Gainsborough Rural South.

WLDC – Home Choices.

LALC – update including information on funding for village halls. This was passed on to Cllr Musgrave.

LALC – Article on extra spending.

9. HARPHAM ROAD.

This is still going through the legal process.

 

10 . 40 MPH BUFFER ZONE & OTHER SPEED REDUCTION METHODS.

More passive speed signs are to be applied for

 

11. BUS SHELTER.

The Council was asked if there is to be any provision of bus shelters on High Street.

Mr Kinch is to be asked if there would be enough room for agricultural vehicles if the proposed shelter on Stow Park Road was moved further along.

 

12. VILLAGE SIGNS.

The possibility of having a sign depicting a WW1 soldier was discussed again.

 

13. OLD TELEPHONE BOX.

Cllr Spence has discussed this project with Elite Signs and this is a work in progress.

 

14. TRENTSIDE MEMORIES BOOKS.

Cllr Spence will ask if these can be sold in the shop but it is understood that they already have unsold copies.

 

15. REPORTS/ITEMS FOR NEXT AGENDA.

The fire hydrant at the bottom of the hill is deteriorating even though it has been repaired previously.

There is concern about suspicious activity at night near the pumping station.

Mr & Mrs Palastanga have requested more strong black bags for when they pick up rubbish around the area.

The Village Hall Committee has asked for financial help with replacing the bark in the play area. Recycled rubber would be preferable and they will supply prices at the next meeting.
